Chat-World uses Second Life® (www.secondlife.com) and is a secure virtual island. By signing up to Chat-World you will also be signing up to Second Life. We do this sign up so that when your Second Life account is created we can link your real identity to that of your online, Second Life identity, just so that we can make it sercure.

As long as you meet these two basic requirements then everything is all ok to go ahead.
The 3 Steps
Getting access to Chat-World is done in 3 easy steps.
Step 1: Fill out the application request form on the next page, providing some basic details for both us at The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust as well as information required by Second Life.
At this step you will also use your Chat-Code given to you by the hospital. If your hospital is currently not involved, please let us know by getting in touch.
Step 2: We will then set up your account with Second Life, using the information that you provided us. As well as linking that account to Chat-World.
Step 3: At this stage you will receive a welcome email form us. This will verify your account details, username and password etc. as well as how to connect to Second Life and visit Chat-World.

Information for parents and carers
*Currently due to Second Life's age restrictions the youngest we can let into Chat-World is 16. This is likely to change in the near future and when it does we will drop the age down.
